Canada Supports New Defence, Security, and Resilience Bank
On January 31, 2026, the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank (DSRB) Development Group announced Canada's backing for the establishment of a new financial institution aimed at bolstering defence and security. The Canadian Minister of Finance confirmed the nation's leadership in this initiative, which reflects a common understanding among allied countries.
The goal is to create a bank that provides accessible and stable financing for expanding defence and security capacities. The DSRB aims to enhance industrial scale-up and reinforce supply-chain resilience. The bank will complement existing national and multilateral financial structures.
The DSRB Development Group is collaborating with Canada and other supportive nations to design and implement effective governance and operational frameworks for the bank. The intent is to cater to the financial needs of participating countries and their respective industries.
