Daldrup & Söhne AG Secures Contract for Deep Geothermal Project Near Munich
Daldrup & Söhne AG, a specialist in drilling technology and geothermal energy, has been awarded a contract by Amperland Thermalwärme GmbH. The agreement, valued at approximately EUR 16.8 million, involves acting as a general contractor for a deep geothermal doublet near Munich.
The project will see the drilling of two deflected geothermal wells at the Geiselbullach cogeneration plant site, with scheduled commencement in September 2025. This initiative is supported by a EUR 8.8 million grant from Germany's Efficient Heating Networks (BEW) program, aimed at integrating thermal waste utilization and geothermal energy for climate-neutral district heating.
CEO Andreas Tönies emphasizes the region's commitment to transitioning towards renewable heat sources. Daldrup's expertise in drilling is pivotal for the project, which promises sustainable energy solutions in collaboration with municipal utilities.
