Compagnie des Alpes and PRINOTH Launch Electric Snow Groomer
In April 2026, Compagnie des Alpes (CDA) and PRINOTH announced the LEITWOLF LTE-Motion, the world's first high-power electric snow groomer. This groundbreaking machine aims to meet the performance needs of alpine skiing with reduced emissions. The development is the result of a 2024 partnership focused on mass-producing electric snow groomers within Alpine regions to support carbon neutrality.
The LEITWOLF LTE-Motion offers performance similar to its diesel counterpart, addressing the challenge of creating an electric equivalent. Equipped with European-manufactured batteries, it maintains stability and hill-climbing capability. Its operating range spans 4 to 5 hours, extendable to 7 hours with rapid charging.
CDA has reduced emissions by 93% through electric use, lowering maintenance costs by 20% and operational costs by half annually compared to combustion-engine models. This shift is further supported by the establishment of a production line in Savoie, affirming their commitment to local economic growth.
