Commerzbank Sees SREP Capital Requirements Reduced for 2027
The European Central Bank's annual Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP) has led to a reduction in capital requirements for Commerzbank. The bank's Pillar 2 capital requirement (P2R) will decrease by 5 basis points to 2.10% for 2027. This marks the second consecutive year of reductions, reflecting the bank's robust business model.
The additional own funds requirement for the leverage ratio stays unchanged at 0.1%. Commerzbank's Maximum Distributable Amount (MDA) threshold for Common Equity Tier 1 is set at 10.26% of risk-weighted assets. The P2R-LR remains at 0.1%, and the bank maintains a comfortable leverage ratio of 4.3%.
According to CEO Bettina Orlopp, these developments underscore the bank's strong financial position, allowing it to continue offering stable growth financing and maintain its capital return policies.
