Co-op partners with VusionGroup for electronic labels

On May 22, 2025, British retailer Co-op announced its strategic partnership with VusionGroup to deploy electronic shelf labels across its 2,400 stores. This project aims to modernize the customer experience by replacing paper labels with digital solutions, ensuring clear and accurate product information.

This rollout is the largest of its kind in the UK and Ireland. The new labels will also reduce paper usage and improve inventory management. Steven Logue, Co-op's Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the importance of this technology in supporting the company's growth and ambitions.

The first phase will see the system installed in 1,500 stores by the end of 2025, with a target of full completion by the end of 2026. These labels will facilitate online order fulfillment, a key area for Co-op. This initiative reinforces the company's commitment to sustainability and innovation.
