China Unicom and Huawei Transform Marathon Events with 5G-A GigaUplink
In Beijing, China Unicom and Huawei successfully deployed 5G-A GigaUplink to enhance the Beijing E-Town Half-Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half-Marathon. This initiative highlighted the integration of 5G-A and AI, offering fast uplink with large capacity and low latency, crucial for both human and robot participants.
China Unicom and Huawei employed 5G-A 3CC on 3.5 GHz and 2.1 GHz bands, achieving an uplink speed surpassing 99.6% at 20 Mbps and peaking at 677 Mbps. This setup facilitated high-quality 4K/8K broadcasts, real-time editing, and smooth streaming for attendees and viewers.
The humanoid robot marathon, a global first, required dedicated uplink slices to support autonomous navigation and real-time video uploads. The event demonstrated the potential of 5G-A networks in sports, setting a benchmark for future intelligent industry transformations.
