Charwood Energy is providing the financing for its green syngas power plant
Charwood Energy, a French specialist in biomass energy recovery, has finalized the financing for its first syngas production plant. This plant will supply green energy to the Verallia France site in Cognac. The site, which manufactures glass packaging, will benefit from a significant reduction in its CO2 emissions. Charwood Energy, in partnership with Eiffel Gaz Vert, also received a grant from ADEME and the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.
The plant, scheduled to begin construction in 2026, will produce 30 GWh per year through biomass pyrolysis. This project is part of a strategy to develop recurring revenue streams and marks a significant step towards industrial decarbonization. The syngas sales contract with Verallia is for 21 years, and commissioning is planned for 2027.
