CHAR Technologies Updates on GazoTech's Bio-Methane Provence Project
CHAR Technologies Ltd. has announced the successful completion of the voluntary public consultation for the Bio-Méthane Provence (BMP) project in Gardanne, France. This initiative, a collaboration between GazoTech SAS and CHAR Tech, aims to transform a former coal power plant into a renewable energy hub. The public consultation, supervised by the CNDP, concluded with strong support.
Once operational, BMP will process 115,000 tonnes of wood annually, generating 230 GWh of renewable natural gas and 12,000 tonnes of biocarbon. Commercial launch is planned for the second half of 2029, subject to regulatory approvals and securing financing.
Andrew White, CEO of CHAR Tech, emphasized the project's importance as a benchmark for GazoTech's European projects. The consultation is seen as a positive step towards further development and obtaining the necessary environmental permits.
