Brenmiller Partners with ENASCO for Nuclear-Integrated Energy Solutions
Brenmiller Energy has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with ENASCO to develop Small Modular Reactor (SMR) integrated Thermal Energy Storage (TES) solutions. The collaboration aims to launch its first joint TES project in 2027 and targets $50 million in project value by 2030. By 2035, they plan to build a $650 million project pipeline.
The initiative involves utilizing Brenmiller’s bGen TES system with Liquid Metal Reactor (LMR)-based SMRs. This combination is designed to improve energy efficiency and operational flexibility. The MoU sets out plans to form strategic alliances and begin pilot integrations with AI data centers by 2026.
According to the International Energy Agency, SMR capacity could reach 120 GW by 2050, demanding $670 billion in global investment. Brenmiller's system is expected to aid in this sector by offering enhanced passive safety and streamlined design benefits.
