Bouygues Telecom Moves to Acquire SFR in Strategic Consortium Deal
Bouygues Telecom, alongside Orange and Free-iliad Group, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Altice France to acquire SFR. This transaction excludes Altice shareholdings in XP Fibre and others. It aims to support customer needs, technological innovation, and France’s digital sovereignty in a mature telecoms market.
The acquisition involves Bouygues Telecom obtaining SFR's business activities, enhancing customer transition and service continuity. Employment for SFR staff is assured until 2029. Financially, Bouygues Telecom will gain new B2B and B2C customer bases and enhance its network capabilities. The transaction’s enterprise value totals €20.35 billion, with Bouygues Telecom's share being 42%. Financing is secured through a bank loan.
The transaction, subject to regulatory approvals and completion steps, could finalize by late 2027. This deal aims to strengthen Bouygues Telecom's market position and increase synergy-driven savings, enhancing its operational efficacy.
