Borussia Dortmund Reports Q3 Financial Decline Amid UEFA Exit
Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA released preliminary figures for the third quarter of the 2025/2026 financial year, revealing a dip in financial performance. Consolidated earnings after taxes amounted to a loss of EUR 12.8 million, compared to a profit of EUR 5.2 million in the same period last year. The drop is attributed to the team's elimination from the UEFA Champions League, impacting revenue streams significantly.
Revenue in Q3 decreased by 16.1% to EUR 124.9 million, from EUR 148.8 million the previous year. This decline was evident across various income streams, including match operations and TV marketing. Despite the downturn, net transfer income saw an increase over the first three quarters, reaching EUR 55.1 million, up from EUR 34.8 million last year.
Lower personnel and operating expenses partially offset the losses, decreasing to EUR 68.3 million and EUR 37.4 million, respectively. Borussia Dortmund's full Q3 report will be available by May 15, 2026, for detailed insights.
