BNP Paribas Maintains its CET1 Ratio Trajectory Following the ECB's O-SII Framework Update
On April 28, 2026, BNP Paribas confirmed its CET1 ratio trajectory despite the ECB's update to the O-SII framework. Classified in bucket 8 with a score of 911 points, BNP Paribas must now comply with an O-SII buffer of 2.0%, representing an increase of 50 basis points. This increase will be phased in: 25 basis points in January 2027 and another 25 in January 2028.
BNP Paribas' CET1 ratio reached 12.8% as of March 31, 2026, 20 basis points higher than at the end of 2025. This performance remains well above the SREP threshold of 10.42%. There is no impact on the shareholder return policy. The bank will publish its first-quarter 2026 results on April 30.
