Bittium Oyj Strengthens Position in Tactical Communications with Safran Partnership

Bittium Oyj has made significant strides in the European tactical communications market. The company recently signed a two-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Safran Electronics & Defense. This partnership focuses on developing solutions for the French Ministry of Defence, positioning Bittium as a key player in the sector. While the MoU lacks a firm commercial order, it represents a major advancement for Bittium.

Safran plans to integrate Bittium's communication technology into its offerings, rather than act as a reseller. Key areas of collaboration include ground-based air defence, counter-drone communications, and secure communications for the French army. These efforts aim to challenge Thales, the current market leader in France.

Bittium sees a high probability for a future commercial agreement and has already secured a pilot order from Sweden's Defence Materiel Administration. With ongoing discussions across Europe and the Asia-Pacific, Bittium has raised its target price to €46, maintaining a BUY rating.
