Bitcoin Group SE Explores New Operating Model for Bitcoin.de
Bitcoin Group SE has announced that its subsidiary, futurum bank AG, is developing an alternative operating model for Bitcoin.de. This decision comes after the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (Bafin) rejected futurum bank AG's application for MiCAR authorisation. Despite this setback, Bitcoin Group SE assures that customer assets remain secure and their claims intact.
The refusal by Bafin highlights concerns regarding the current implementation level and short-term operational capabilities. While Bitcoin Group SE disagrees with the decision, it had anticipated this possibility and is now exploring options for lodging an objection or reapplying for authorisation later.
To resume trading operations swiftly, futurum bank AG plans to partner with regulated German companies, enhancing Bitcoin.de's model. Customer transactions will soon be available through the upgraded app, thanks to this cooperation.
As the integration progresses, futurum bank AG pledges to provide ongoing updates to customers about developments and necessary actions through the Bitcoin.de platform.
