BioVersys Publishes BV100 Lung Penetration Data
BioVersys AG has announced the publication of Phase 1 clinical studies data for BV100 in two respected antimicrobial journals. The data reveal that BV100 achieves concentrations in lung fluid and alveolar macrophages significantly higher than in plasma, as noted in the International Journal of Antimicrobial Agents. This supports BV100's clinical evaluation for severe CRAB pneumonia.
Further results published in the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy describe BV100 as a mild CYP3A inducer, with a drug interaction profile milder than rifampicin. BV100 is currently part of the RIV-TARGET Phase 3 trial targeting bacterial pneumonia caused by carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii.
BioVersys' CEO, Dr. Marc Gitzinger, highlighted the urgent need for treatments against carbapenem-resistant strains, emphasizing BV100 as a promising option. Enrollment for the trial continues, with findings expected in early 2028.
