Binzhou takes flight into space with Tianzhou-10
On May 11, 2026, samples from a project investigating the influence of a rotating magnetic field on the solidification of a light alloy were loaded onto the Tianzhou-10 spacecraft. This project involves the Metallic Materials Center of the Weiqiao Guoke Institute of Advanced Technology in Binzhou. The mission aims to conduct microgravity experiments within the Chinese space station.
Conducted in partnership with leading academic institutions, this project marks a significant advancement in the innovation capabilities of Binzhou and Shandong. It is the first time such a light alloy solidification experiment has been carried out under these conditions on the space station. This achievement underscores the institute's research strength and its role in the Chinese space program.
