Befar Group Launches 6N-Grade Hydrogen Fluoride Production
Befar Group, based in Binzhou, China, has achieved mass production of 6N-grade high-purity hydrogen fluoride (HF) as of July 19. This significant advancement fills a production gap for this critical semiconductor material in Shandong Province.
Used in semiconductor chip etching and cleaning, 6N-grade HF is vital for advanced technological nodes of 28 nanometers and below. Previously, domestic supply depended heavily on imports due to reliance on overseas core technologies.
Befar Group overcame significant technical challenges, ensuring metal-ion impurity levels remain below 1 part per billion. The company has set up a 50-ton-per-year HF cylinder filling line and has started supplying both domestic and international customers.
With these capabilities, Befar Group plans to expand its product offerings and fortify the semiconductor supply chain's stability by increasing local capacity.
