Berlin Tops Germany's Flower-Friendly Cities List
Berlin has emerged as Germany's most flower-friendly city, according to a recent study by Freddie's Flowers. The research assessed major urban areas on factors like access to florists, botanical gardens, flower markets, and urban green spaces.
Berlin scored 90 out of 100, taking the top position due to its vibrant community gardening initiatives and extensive floral retail options. The city boasts 180 community gardens, 15 flower markets, and eight public botanical gardens.
Dresden and Freiburg im Breisgau followed closely, with scores of 89.75 and 88.75 respectively. Dresden's green infrastructure is impressive, with parklands covering 58% of the city. Freiburg, known for its environmental focus, supports 26 florists and offers substantial parkland coverage.
Natural spaces not only improve mood and community cohesion but also enhance urban livability. This study underlines the importance of integrating nature into city life across Germany.
