Battery X Metals Partners with Leading University for Battery Recycling Tech
Battery X Metals Inc., through its subsidiary Battery X Recycling Technologies Inc., has signed a Collaborative Research Agreement with a Global Top 20 University. The partnership aims to enhance their proprietary froth-flotation process, focusing on recovering high-purity graphite and oxides from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries. Prior laboratory tests showed promising results, with graphite recovery above 98% and oxide purity up to 96%.
The new agreement will refine the process, improve graphite and oxide purity, and include testing for lithium-iron-phosphate chemistries. This collaboration marks a significant step for Battery X in providing environmentally responsible solutions, minimizing chemical use while supporting a circular supply chain for battery materials.
This 13-month project, valued at CAD $224,560, emphasizes sustainable recycling technologies essential in meeting the rising demand for battery materials amid increasing electrification.
