Bastei Lübbe AG Revises 2025/2026 Financial Projections

Bastei Lübbe AG has adjusted its revenue and EBIT forecasts for the 2025/2026 financial year, as announced on April 10, 2026. Despite initial confidence reflected in the nine-months report, the fourth quarter performance from January to March 2026 fell short of expectations. The company now anticipates Group revenues between EUR 118 to 119 million, down from a previous forecast of EUR 120 to 125 million. Similarly, Group EBIT expectations have been lowered to the range of EUR 10 to 11 million, compared to an earlier estimate of EUR 14 to 16 million.

This revision is attributed to reduced consumer spending, particularly noticeable in March 2026. Escalating geopolitical tensions have spurred inflation, reaching levels not seen since early 2024, thereby impacting consumer spending willingness. The underperformance in the Easter period significantly contributed to the disappointing results. This trend mirrors the broader German book market, which witnessed a decline in the first quarter of 2026 compared to the previous year.
