Barcelona Hosts New Summit on Urban and Affordable Housing

Barcelona is set to host HOWS Barcelona, an international congress focusing on urban and affordable housing. Scheduled from November 3 to 5 at the Gran Via venue, it's part of the Smart City Expo World Congress. The gathering will highlight pressing urban housing issues and is supported by Barcelona City Council and organized by Fira de Barcelona.

With over 100 speakers and 20 sessions, the event aims to unify stakeholders—cities, housing providers, developers, and more—toward innovative housing solutions. Key themes include urban planning, housing regulation, building innovation, and financing mechanisms. It's backed by the Government of Catalonia and the European Union, among others.

Additionally, HOWS Barcelona will host high-level activities, fostering international cooperation among city leaders. Complementing this, the Barcelona Housing and Renovation Forum will be integrated, focusing on public housing supply and renovation strategies.
