Commerzbank Exceeds 2025 Growth Targets with Record Results
Commerzbank reported a remarkable financial year in 2025, with an 18% increase in operating results to €4.5bn. Despite restructuring expenses of €562m, the net result reached €2.6bn, surpassing targets. The bank's revenue grew by 10% to €12.2bn, driven by a 7% growth in net commission income and a stable net interest income of €8.2bn.
The Corporate Clients segment showed strong performance, with a 10% increase in the loan portfolio, while the Polish subsidiary mBank significantly boosted revenues. The bank's cost-income ratio improved to 57%, aligning with targets, and the capital return increased to €2.7bn. Looking forward, Commerzbank expects its 2026 net result to exceed €3.2bn due to revised net interest income forecasts.
The bank's advancements in AI technologies have enhanced productivity and customer experience, contributing to its transformation under the "Momentum" strategy. As part of its capital return strategy, Commerzbank plans increased dividends and share buybacks, reflecting its commitment to shareholder value.
