Commerzbank Completes €524m Share Buyback

Commerzbank AG has concluded its sixth share buyback, totaling €524 million. Completed on March 9, 2026, the buyback involved 15,676,410 shares, representing 1.39% of the bank's share capital. Each share was repurchased at an average price of €33.45.

CEO Bettina Orlopp highlighted this move as a significant step in Commerzbank's capital return strategy for the 2025 financial year. With this initiative and a prior buyback in December, the bank has returned €1.5 billion to shareholders. Commerzbank also proposes a record dividend of €1.2 billion.

The bank's capital return for 2025 stands at €2.7 billion, aligning with its net result post restructuring expenses. Cumulatively, Commerzbank plans to return €5.8 billion to shareholders between 2022 and 2025.

Under its "Momentum" strategy, Commerzbank aims for consistent net result growth, targeting a 100% payout ratio for the financial years up to 2028.
