Commerzbank Achieves Record Nine-Month Results
Commerzbank has reported its best nine-month performance in history, achieving a 17% increase in operating result to €4bn. The net result rose by 41% to €2.7bn. Revenues climbed by 8% to €9.7bn, fueled by an increase in net commission and net interest income. A significant improvement in the cost-income ratio to 53%, excluding compulsory contributions, was also noted. A strategic focus on corporate clients and enhancement in securities business for private customers contributed to these strong results.
The Bank launched a €1.2bn share buyback in September, with nearly 70% already completed. Improvements in corporate client offerings and expansion of AI in trading have been key highlights. Progress on personnel transformation continues, alongside a significant reduction in provisions for legal risks. CEO Bettina Orlopp emphasized the importance of value creation for all stakeholders.
Commerzbank confirms its 2026 targets, aiming for a net result of at least €3.4bn and maintaining a CET1 ratio above 14%.
