Bajaj Mobility AG's Strategic Restructuring: Efficiency and Right-sizing
Bajaj Mobility AG, formerly known as PIERER Mobility AG, is taking significant steps in its efficiency program aimed at repositioning itself in the global market after KTM AG's 2024 insolvency. The restructuring involves reducing fixed costs, streamlining structures, and focusing on core products. As part of these measures, around 500 employees, mostly in salaried and middle management positions, will be let go. This move is supported by the submission of early warning notifications to the Austrian Public Employment Service.
CEO Gottfried Neumeister emphasized the need for these changes to ensure the company remains competitive. With a leaner model range and organizational structure, KTM AG focuses on its core motorcycle brands: KTM, GASGAS, and Husqvarna. Previous business adjustments included the sale of FELT Bicycles and the cessation of CFMOTO distribution. With cost reductions and increased focus, Bajaj Mobility AG aims to re-establish itself as a leading motorcycle manufacturer.
