Atos Group to Sell Part of Advanced Computing Business to French State
Atos Group has received a confirmatory offer from the French State to acquire its Advanced Computing business, excluding Vision AI activities. The transaction is valued at €410 million, including €110 million in contingent earn-outs. These earn-outs are dependent on profitability indicators for 2025 and 2026. The deal reflects a reduced scope after the exclusion of Vision AI activities, which will remain with Eviden and form a new business unit focused on AI, Data, and Security.
The advanced computing segment encompasses the High-Performance Computing (HPC) & Quantum and Business Computing & Artificial Intelligence divisions. This segment is expected to generate approximately €0.8 billion in revenue by 2025. The transaction, expected to close in 2026, has been deemed fair by an independent expert appointed by Atos' Board of Directors.
This strategic move aims to refine Atos' focus and strengthen its core competencies, aligning with its 2028 financial trajectory. Final agreements are subject to regulatory approvals and consultations with employee representatives.
