Arkema Invests in Transparent Polyamide in Singapore
On July 9, 2025, Arkema announced the construction of a new Rilsan® Clear polyamide unit in Singapore. This investment, estimated at US$20 million, follows a 50% increase in global Rilsan® polyamide 11 capacity on the same platform. The new unit is scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2026.
This investment will triple global production of transparent polyamide, meeting the growing demand for sustainable, high-performance materials across various sectors. Arkema is establishing itself as the global leader in this field, notably thanks to its Rilsan® Clear Rnew® G850 and G820 products, which contain 45% and 62% bio-based carbon, respectively.
Laurent Tellier, Deputy CEO, emphasizes that this investment reinforces Arkema's commitment to providing local solutions in Asia and beyond, by improving delivery times and the resilience of supply chains.
