BRIEF

on ANT Systems Holding B.V.

ANT Systems Begins Large-Scale Production of Drought Technology

ANT Systems, a company specializing in agricultural nano-technology, has started industrial-scale production of NANOTERN™ in Istanbul. This biodegradable, cellulose-based material helps retain water in drought conditions. The firm, based in The Hague, values its technology at over $30 million, with about $5 million raised so far.

NANOTERN™ is already used in multiple regions, including the U.S. and parts of Africa. The new facility in Istanbul can produce 3,000 tons annually, making ANT Systems the first to offer such technology at this scale. The material absorbs up to 1,800 times its weight in water, releasing it as needed without leaving residues. This technology may reduce irrigation needs by 50% and increase crop yields by 25%.

ANT Systems holds global patents for several nano-bio technologies and aims to address water management and food security issues, emphasizing technology in the face of climate challenges.
