Ams OSRAM Finalizes Sale of Sensor Business to Infineon for EUR 570 Million
ams OSRAM has completed the sale of its non-optical analog/mixed-signal sensor division to Infineon for EUR 570 million in cash. This transaction marks a significant move for ams OSRAM, enhancing its balance sheet and focusing its strategic efforts on becoming a leader in Digital Photonics.
CEO Aldo Kamper highlighted the divestment as a means to concentrate on the company's core photonics business. The strategic refocus aims to position ams OSRAM as a powerhouse in semiconductor photonics, concentrating on digital light emissions and optical sensing.
The cash received through this transaction supports ams OSRAM’s plan to accelerate debt reduction and fosters mid-term growth opportunities anticipated under new financial targets set for 2030.
