Ams OSRAM Sells Entertainment & Industry Lamps Business to Ushio Inc.
ams OSRAM AG announced the completion of the sale of its Entertainment and Industry Lamps business to Ushio Inc. of Japan. The transaction, valued at EUR 114 million on a cash and debt-free basis, marks a significant step in ams OSRAM's deleveraging plan.
The sale aligns with ams OSRAM’s strategy to reduce its leverage ratio below 2, as announced in April 2025. The company aims to focus on its core business of Digital Photonics.
The transaction includes production facilities in Berlin and approximately 500 employees, along with research and development capabilities. Ushio Inc., headquartered in Tokyo, is a global leader in optical technologies.
The successful completion of this sale strengthens ams OSRAM’s financial position and supports its long-term strategic objectives.
