Amprion's €1 Billion Green Bond Boosts German Energy Transition
Amprion GmbH has successfully placed a €1 billion green dual-tranche bond on the international capital market. This issuance is a part of Amprion's €9 billion debt issuance programme aimed at supporting Germany's energy transition. Amprion, a key player in shaping Germany's energy landscape, focuses on financing sustainable projects like upgrading the climate-neutral electricity transmission grid.
Two tranches were issued: the first tranche, €500 million with a 4.5-year maturity at a 3.000% p.a. coupon, and the second tranche, €500 million with an 11-year maturity at a 3.875% p.a. coupon. The bond has received favorable ratings, including Baa1 from Moody's and A- from Fitch.
This issuance attracted investors with a sustainability focus, broadening Amprion’s investor base. The bond proceeds will exclusively fund projects aligned with the Amprion Green Finance Framework, affirmed by Sustainalytics.
