Amprion Secures €2.2 Billion Equity Boost from Shareholders
Amprion GmbH, a major transmission system operator in Germany, has completed a €2.2 billion capital increase. This strategic move is part of Amprion's broader effort to support Germany's energy transition. The capital was contributed by M31 Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH & Co. Energie KG, a consortium of German institutional investors, and RWE Alkaios Holding GmbH, a partnership between RWE AG and Apollo Global Management.
The funds will bolster Amprion's financial standing and facilitate its extensive investment program aimed at enhancing Germany's power grid. CFO Peter Rüth highlighted the successful collaboration with long-standing shareholders and welcomed new investors. Regular capital increases are crucial to Amprion's strategy, enabling timely project execution necessary for the country's energy transformation.
