Amprion Issues €1.5 Billion in Green Bonds
Amprion GmbH, a leading transmission system operator, has issued green bonds worth €1.5 billion. The funds are designated for sustainable projects, focusing on expanding and upgrading Germany's transmission grid to aid the energy transition. This issuance marks the completion of Amprion's 2026 bond funding strategy.
The bonds are divided into two tranches. The first, amounting to €750 million and maturing in six years, carries an interest of 4.398% per annum. The second, also €750 million, maturing in ten years, offers a 4.838% interest rate. The bonds are listed on the Luxembourg Stock Exchange's Euro MTF market.
This initiative aligns with Amprion's Green Finance Framework, supported by a second-party opinion from ESG rating agency, Sustainalytics. Partners like RWE, holding a majority indirect stake, reinforce Amprion’s strategic growth in sustainable energy infrastructure.
