American Critical Minerals Applauds Potash Inclusion in US Critical Minerals List
American Critical Minerals Corp. announced its support for the recent inclusion of potash in the US Geological Survey's Critical Minerals List. This update follows an Executive Order by President Donald Trump and acknowledges potash's strategic importance due to heavy reliance on imports. Over 92% of US potash consumption is imported, mainly from Canada and other countries.
In light of this development, potash projects could become eligible for federal funding and face streamlined permitting processes. Furthermore, the U.S. Department of Agriculture granted Sage Potash (USA) Corporation $14 million, intending to construct a potash production facility in Utah.
The International Development Finance Corporation also supported Millennial Potash's project in Gabon with $3 million in funding. Recognizing the potential for U.S. food security, Simon Clarke, CEO, highlighted the significance of developing domestic sources of potash.
