Amarc and Boliden Launch $4 Million Exploration Initiative in BC's Duke District
Amarc Resources Ltd. has initiated field surveys in the Duke Copper-Gold District, central British Columbia. This marks the start of a $4 million exploration program, funded entirely by Boliden Mineral Canada Ltd. as part of a 60:40 joint venture with Amarc. The project aims to identify copper-gold deposit targets for potential drill testing later in the season. Amarc has 180 days from April 30, 2026, to invest $2.66 million if it wishes to maintain its 40% interest in the joint venture.
The Duke District spans 732 square kilometers and is located 80 km northeast of Smithers. It is part of a mineral-rich porphyry belt noted for former mines and deposits. Amarc plans to conduct various geophysical, geochemical, and geological surveys, focusing on areas revealing potential for development.
The region already hosts substantial deposits and infrastructure, which supports its exploration activities. The joint venture aims to significantly contribute to the development of BC's porphyry copper-gold sector.
