AMAG Austria Metall AG Reports Strong Q1 2026 Earnings Increase

AMAG Austria Metall AG posted a significant rise in earnings in Q1 2026, buoyed by favorable market conditions for primary aluminium. Revenue grew marginally by 0.6% to EUR 403.8 million compared to last year's Q1. EBITDA soared by 23.9%, reaching EUR 57.1 million. Net income after taxes increased remarkably by 63.8% to EUR 26.5 million.

The company's diverse operations, including the Canadian Alouette aluminium smelter, contributed positively. The Metal Division recorded a profit surge, while the Casting and Rolling Divisions also showed growth. Operating cash flow dipped to EUR -8.4 million due to higher working capital needs amidst rising aluminium prices.

AMAG anticipates continued positive development in 2026 across all divisions with expected EBITDA between EUR 150 to EUR 180 million for the year. Production capacity utilization and market conditions remain favorable, notably in the Metal Division.
