Alzchem Group AG Expands into the U.S. with New Production Facility

On July 8, 2026, Alzchem Group AG, based in Trostberg, announced a pivotal step in its international expansion, selecting Bushy Park, South Carolina, for a new production facility. This move aligns with the company's strategic aim to penetrate the defense market, with anticipated investments near USD 150 million, bolstered by U.S. government and local support.

This expansion complements the recent capacity increase in Germany and aims to enhance Alzchem's global presence. The Bushy Park facility will focus on nitroguanidine, crucial for propellant production, ensuring a steady supply for U.S. markets under a governmental contract. Intermediate products will still be produced in Germany, maintaining economic benefits there.

CEO Andreas Niedermaier emphasizes this expansion as vital for customer supply security and growth within the U.S. The next project phase involves advanced engineering and obtaining necessary approvals, with construction set to begin in 2027 and operations starting in 2029.
