ALTA Performance Materials Acquires BASF's Palatal Business Unit

ALTA Performance Materials has signed an agreement to acquire BASF's Palatal business unit in Chile, marking a strategic expansion in South America. This move aligns with BASF's strategic shift towards its core chemical businesses. During the transition, Palatal operations will continue as usual.

Palatal supplies vinyl ester and unsaturated polyester resins to diverse sectors, including construction and transportation. Situated in Concón, Chile, it boasts a strong customer base and deep expertise in the South American market.

The acquisition will establish ALTA's second production site in Latin America, enhancing its manufacturing footprint and customer support through local supply and technical expertise. The transaction's finalization depends on meeting customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.

Both companies emphasize ensuring business continuity and a seamless transition during the phase.
