Alstom to equip Mumbai Metro Line 4
On August 26, 2025, Alstom announced its partnership with Larsen & Toubro Limited India to equip Mumbai Metro Line 4. This collaboration involves the supply of 39 driverless Metropolis trainsets, designed in India. The trains will be manufactured at the Sri City factory, reinforcing the "Make in India" initiative. This project also includes the implementation of Urbalis Forward CBTC signaling, reducing journey times and CO2 emissions, and a five-year maintenance service to ensure equipment reliability.
Line 4, a 35.3 km corridor with 32 stations, will improve urban connectivity. Alstom confirms its leadership position in CBTC technology, with over 30 years of experience and equipping 190 metro lines worldwide. With this project, Alstom strengthens its presence in India and its commitment to smart and sustainable mobility.
