Alstom extends its contract with Metrolinx in Toronto
On March 20, 2026, Alstom announced the extension of its contract with Metrolinx, the Ontario public transit agency. This contract, worth approximately €800 million, will allow Alstom to continue operating and maintaining the GO Transit and UP Express fleets until 2031.
With this agreement, Alstom will maintain nearly 1,300 jobs in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area. In 2024-2025, Alstom operated 117,020 GO Rail services and 56,494 UP Express services, with an on-time performance rate exceeding 97%.
Michael Keroullé, President of Alstom Americas, praised the professionalism of his local teams. This renewal consolidates Alstom's position as the leading private provider of rail operations and maintenance in North America.
