Aliko Scientific announces a joint venture with BioBrasil for FISH probes
Aliko Scientific SA has signed a memorandum of understanding with BioBrasil to create a joint venture in Brazil. This initiative aims to manufacture FISH probes for the global diagnostics market. The "instrument + probes" model is designed to generate recurring revenue and improve long-term profitability. Commercial launch is planned in approximately nine months.
The agreement establishes an entity owned 51% by Aliko Scientific Brasil Ltda and 49% by BioBrasil. The joint venture will focus on the development and manufacturing of FISH probes. BioBrasil will contribute its manufacturing and regulatory expertise, while Aliko Scientific will provide its marketing and business development know-how.
BioBrasil will have an option on distribution rights in Brazil and Mercosur, while Aliko will retain international rights. Governance will be ensured by a joint board of directors. A rapid market entry is anticipated thanks to BioBrasil's infrastructure and expertise.
