Alibaba Unveils Advanced AI Model Qwen3-Coder

Alibaba has introduced Qwen3-Coder, its most advanced AI coding model. It targets high-performance software development, specializing in generating new codes and managing complex workflows. This model excels in debugging extensive codebases.

The Qwen3-Coder-480B-A35B-Instruct model features a Mixture-of-Experts architecture. With 480 billion parameters, it activates 35 billion per token, ensuring efficiency. It is open-sourced and performs competitively across benchmark standards in coding and tool use.

Additionally, Alibaba has open-sourced Qwen Code. This command-line tool allows developers to delegate tasks to AI using natural language. It supports extensive code processing through an expandable context window and utilizes long-horizon reinforcement learning for improved performance.

Available on Hugging Face and GitHub, Qwen3-Coder can be accessed via APIs on Alibaba's Model Studio. Tongyi Lingma, Alibaba Cloud's coding assistant, will be updated using Qwen3-Coder's features, enhancing its capabilities.
