Algo Grande Copper Unveils Promising Mineralization in Sonora
Algo Grande Copper Corp. announced full assay results from drill hole AG-CG-PH2-002 at the Cerro Grande skarn discovery in Sonora, Mexico. This hole, part of the Adelita Project, revealed high-grade copper-silver-gold mineralization over two zones from 146.70 to 282.00 meters downhole. A notably promising second zone, 38.20 meters grading 1.0% CuEq, was discovered 67 meters below a previously identified zone. The results highlight the skarn's vertical continuity, confirming a multi-horizon system rather than a single lens.
The combined intervals cover 68.43 meters of mineralization, averaging 1.2% CuEq. The company attributes the lower grades between these zones to a deviation in the drillhole, rather than a mineralization absence. This discovery extends the interpreted host package's thickness by about 52 meters, aiding future exploration targeting.
This hole has also defined the base of the limestone-skarn package at 364.00 meters, offering insights for ongoing drilling strategies. Still open along strike, up-dip, and at depth, the mineralization hints at a broader scale for this discovery.
