AL-S Pharma Reports Positive AP-101 Phase 2 Findings for ALS Treatment
AL-S Pharma AG unveiled encouraging Phase 2 data for their antibody AP-101 at the ENCALS 2026 Congress. AP-101 targets misfolded SOD1, implicated in ALS progression. Results demonstrated significant disease modification and prolonged survival in ALS patients after six months of treatment, as indicated by biomarkers pNfH and NfL.
The trial, which involved both sporadic ALS and SOD1 mutation carriers, confirmed AP-101's safety and tolerability. Patients experienced prolonged survival and delayed need for ventilatory support. No adverse antibody reactions were reported. These findings bolster the case for AP-101 as a potential ALS therapy.
AL-S Pharma plans a Phase 3 trial in early 2027, following its endorsement by regulatory agencies. The company continues to engage leaders in ALS research, emphasizing genetic and biomarker insights to advance therapeutic development.
