AL-S Pharma Appoints Harry Welten as CEO

AL-S Pharma AG, a clinical-stage biotech company, announced the appointment of Harry Welten as Chief Executive Officer. Welten, with over 25 years in financial leadership, succeeds Michael Salzmann, Ph.D. The transition occurs as AL-S Pharma progresses with AP-101, its lead antibody program targeting ALS, into a confirmatory Phase 3 trial aiming for 2027.

Chairman Hubert Birner praised Welten’s strategic and financial acumen, crucial for advancing AP-101. The company recently reported positive Phase 2 results for AP-101, aiming to provide new ALS treatments. Welten has extensive experience in guiding life sciences companies in growth, restructuring, and securing essential financing. His previous roles include chairmanships and significant financial achievements in Europe and the U.S.
