Air Liquide has announced a strategic investment of over 200 million USD to enhance its production capabilities at Oxea’s site in Bay City, Texas. This initiative involves constructing a new high-efficiency Partial Oxidation (POX) unit, marking a significant step in Air Liquide's industrial growth and commitment to sustainable practices.

Scheduled to begin operations in 2029, the POX unit will enable large-scale syngas and low-carbon hydrogen production, supporting Oxea's increasing chemical demand. The facility will partially replace existing systems, significantly cutting Air Liquide’s CO2 emissions by about 64,000 tonnes annually.

Matthieu Giard of Air Liquide highlighted this investment as aligning industrial growth with climate objectives by utilizing innovative CO2 recycling technology. Air Liquide continues to expand its presence in the U.S. Gulf Coast, providing low-carbon, competitive, and reliable solutions to its partners.
