Air Liquide Expands Investment in Kazakhstan's Petrochemical Sector
Air Liquide, through its subsidiary Air Liquide Karabatan Tech Gases LLP (ALKTG), has entered a new long-term agreement with Silleno LLP. This strategic alliance involves supplying nitrogen and compressed dry air for Silleno’s forthcoming polyethylene plant in Kazakhstan. The investment, amounting to 70 million euros, signifies a substantial enhancement of Air Liquide's operations in the country, a market it has engaged with since 2016.
The agreement involves the construction of two cutting-edge nitrogen production units. These facilities, known for their high-purity and energy efficiency, will be among the largest industrial gas plants in Central Asia. They are set to commence operations by late 2028, coinciding with Silleno's plant development schedule.
Located in the National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark, ALKTG’s investment builds on its existing infrastructure in the Karabatan basin, reinforcing its industrial presence. Émilie Mouren-Renouard from Air Liquide emphasized the strategic partnership with KazMunayGas, highlighting the focus on technological excellence and regional impact.
