Air France-KLM Acquires 2.3% Stake in WestJet
Air France-KLM has completed the acquisition of a 2.3% stake in the Canadian airline WestJet. The transaction, part of a deal finalized on October 22, 2025, involves shares initially purchased from Delta Air Lines. Delta had acquired a 15% minority stake in WestJet, with another 10% bought by Korean Air, leading to a combined interest of 25% shared among the partners. The shares were sold by Onex Partners, a Canadian investor and WestJet's controlling shareholder.
Air France-KLM and WestJet have been collaborators since 2009, starting with interline ticketing and expanding to code sharing and mutual loyalty benefits. The newly acquired stake is set to strengthen their existing partnership.
