Aliko Dangote: Winner of the 2026 African Energy Prize

Aliko Dangote has been named African Energy Personality of the Year 2026 by the African Energy Chamber. This award recognizes his significant contribution to the African energy sector and his efforts to strengthen energy security.

At the helm of the Dangote Group, he invested heavily in energy and industrial infrastructure. The Dangote refinery, located in Lekki, Nigeria, is a flagship project with a capacity of 650,000 barrels per day. This facility reduces Nigeria's dependence on refined product imports and has boosted the country's foreign exchange reserves.

Dangote continues to expand its refining capacity and philanthropic projects across Africa, contributing to the continent's economic and social development.
