AfricAI Launched to Foster AI Growth in Africa

AfricAI, an AI-focused joint venture, has been launched to propel the development and deployment of AI solutions tailored for African markets. With the initial phase set in Nigeria, AfricAI seeks to leverage existing infrastructure to introduce AI applications in healthcare, digital identity, public administration, and enterprise services.

Comprised of Lakeba Group, Next Digital, AqlanX, and Agentic Dynamic, AfricAI plans to expand its operations into Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and Rwanda by 2026. The venture also aims to train over 100 professionals to enhance regional expertise in AI.

A key focus is to combine innovation with local governance needs, ensuring data control under national rules. AfricAI strives to support digital sovereignty across Africa, with pilot projects in government services, healthcare, and more.

Partners emphasize the importance of building capacity and local infrastructure to foster a sustainable AI ecosystem aligned with Africa's unique needs and aspirations.
